Frequency — The phrase in hospital to refer to a person's condition being treated "in a hospital" has been part of the mainstream Anglo-Canadian lexicon for nearly two hundred years, as evidenced by the record of its usage in Toronto's The Globe newspaper (see the 1850 and later quotations).
